Dedicated Desk

Dedicated desk is the use of dedicated sales agents—agents devoted to taking calls for a single client or product. Dedicated desk agents focus exclusively on one company or product line. Since dedicated agents sell only one item, they:

  • have a deeper knowledge of the product
  • have intimate familiarity with callers' objections and the strategies for overcoming them
  • are primed to educate callers about the complete offer and turn an inquiry into a sale

Dedicated desk agents are particularly well suited for higher-end and harder-to-sell goods. Dedicated agents generally are more mature and have more sales experience than shared reps. While both require product and sales training, a dedicated agent's training usually takes less time.
